Biography Paul D. Shea
Mr. Paul D. Shea, of Waltham, died Wednesday, February 11, 2009 at his home. He was 83. Paul was born in Cambridge on June 23, 1925, the middle child of the late Casimir and Rosemary (Connolly) Shea. He was raised in Watertown where he graduated from Watertown High School and lived there until moving to Waltham in 1956. He and his family also spent many enjoyable vacations at Boothbay Harbor, Maine.
After high school Paul joined the United States Navy where he served aboard the destroyer, USS Forrest. The ship and her crew were awarded six battle stars during World War II including awards for action during the D-Day invasion of France in June, 1944 and a year later in the Pacific during the battle for Okinawa.
