Antoinette P. Hale Angier was born in Michigan on June 6, 1877. Called Nettie, by 1900 she had moved with her parents to a farm in Elkhorn (San Joaquin Co.), CA. A romance ensued with neighbor Melbourne E. Angier, a wine grower, and they were wed about 1905. The couple lived there into the 1930s. After her husband's death in 1944, she moved to the Monterey Peninsula. She died in Burlingame, CA on March 19, 1970. A highly competent painter, her rare paintings include realistic still lifes.
