Jess Earl Stanton was born in San Francisco, CA on April 22, 1887. Stanton studied at Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris and spent eight months traveling in Europe and Africa.
By 1926 he had settled in Los Angeles and was active with the Architectral Club. He was an executive at the Gladding-McBean Tile Company and the architect for the Los Angeles County Courthouse.
He died in Los Angeles on October 31, 1971.
