Marjorie McDonald was born in Chatanooga, TN on April 25, 1904. McDonald studied at the Art Institute of Chicago. After moving to southern California in the late 1930s, she settled in Hollywood and painted portraits for the movie studios. A spinster, she continued painting until her death in Laguna Beach, CA on Sept. 12, 1981. She was the sister of artist Phoebe McDonald.
