Otto de Souza Aguiar (1938-2006) is a Brazilian artist who received
his Master's degree from the University of Fine Arts in Rio de Janeiro.
He combined his experience in fashion and theater with his extensive
formal training to create a unique, signature style, which he is known
for today. Aguiar's utilization of the "trompe l'oeil" technique
creates an image so naturalistic that it appears as though it truly
exists. As a result, his paintings look more like photographs than
