David Repplier Boyd ( b.September 16, 1916, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania-d. February 18, 2009, Leonia, New Jersey)
He was the son of Harriet and John Rutherford Boyd, both of whom were artists. Rutherford was well known as the art editor of the Ladies Home Journal. He painted several covers for the Saturday Evening Post. Rutherford was a frequent contributor to "Architecture and "Scripta Mathematica", in addition to many paintings and sculptures.
David graduated from Amherst College in 1938 and received an MA from Columbia University. After serving in WW2, he returned to his home in Leonia, NJ and apprenticed to his father and to the well known artist Charles Chapman. Da
