Annette Robyns was born in New York on February 8, 1914. Robyns (neé Annette Robyns Rabinowitz) studied at the New York School of Industrial Art and continued in Paris with Fernand Leger. In the 1940s she settled in Los Angeles and obtained her M.A. degree at California State University. After her marriage to actor Donald Elson in 1961, she established the Robyns-Elson Gallery where she sold her works as well as those of other modernists. She exhibited with the Laguna Beach and Westwood Art Associations. Mrs. Elson died in Los Angeles on January 21, 1994.
