Japan, teaching girls Japanese literature in a high school in Yokohama. She draws still life and portrait rich in color,
and in 1932, she was the first woman who joined the Japanese Art Institute, and is the female artist representing the Japanese art world.
Drawing still life was her only field to find in her busy days as a
teacher in school and as a daughter of a mother with illness. She left
many works of still life, finding theme in her ordinary day – vegetables
and fruits lying in kitchen and seasonal flowers picked up in backyard.
