Jessie Miles Lewis was born in Iowa on February 10, 1880. While a resident of Los Angeles,
Lewis taught at Chouinard Art Institute in 1932-39 and then was art supervisor of the county schools.
A spinster, she died in Orange County, CA on February 2, 1971.
Her work includes textile designs and book covers.
Exhibited: Art Teachers Ass'n of Southern California, 1922; Los Angeles County Museum of Art, 1942.
