Camille Soccorsi was born in the town of Bourg St. Andeol, France in 1919 and died in 2007 at Tarascon, France. It is there he realized the largest part of his work, living there for 52 years.
Camille Soccorsi was a complete, multi talented artist, creating monuments for towns and cities, and sculptures of people for private individuals, animals, and with religious content. His mediums were wood, stone, marble with a variety of subjects, characters, animals, a monk, etc. He was also a painter, designer and decorator, having done numerous religious paintings in convents in Canada. He received a large number of awards for his work.
