Marion Astewart (1903-2004)
Weaver, textile designer. Born in New York City in 1903. Marion was teaching at the Dalton School in Manhattan when she married sculptor Albert Stewart in 1939. The couple moved to southern California and settled in Claremont.
Mrs. Stewart was on the faculty at Scripps College from 1944 to 1971 as an instructor in weaving and textile design.
She died in Claremont on July 11, 2004.
