Biography Alfred Sederberg
Alfred A. Sederberg (1830 - 1877)
Probably born in Varmland, Sederberg studied for some time in Dusseldorf, then, sometime in the 1860's, immigrated to Redwing, Minnesota where he painted portraits and landscapes. One of his paintings was a panoramic view of Fort Snelling. It is said that he "left little trace of his Swedish background in Minnesota records" (Anderson, 141) but that he was actively painting in Winona by the 1860s and died in Red Wing.
His work is in the collection of the Minnesota Historical Society.
