Biography Huang Ke
Ke Huang was from Huangyan in Zhejiang. He graduated at the Peking
Jingshi University (Beijing Jingshi daxue) and first taught at the
Shanxi University Art School. Later he was director of the Shanxi Museum
and curator at the Palace Museum in Peking.
After World War II he
taught at the Fine Arts Academy of Chongqing. From 1957 he was again
working in Shanxi. He was a famous scholar in the field of Chinese
painting and calligraphy. As a painter his favorite subjects were
landscapes and trees.
