Helen T. Bacon was born in San Francisco, CA on June 11, 1866. Bacon studied locally at the School of Design and was active in the San Francisco art scene from 1890. She taught in the public schools there while painting in her leisure. Following the earthquake of 1906, she moved across the bay to Oakland. A spinster, she died at Agnews (CA) State Hospital on Jan. 4, 1934.
