Edward J. Haas was born in France on October 5, 1886. Haas had settled in Los Angeles by 1913 and was an art director for silent films.
In 1930 he was a prisoner at the state prison in Jacksonville, Illinois. After his release, he returned to Los Angeles and died there on August 7, 1946.
