Ulayu Pingwartok (1904 – 1978)
A prominent Canadian Inuit* printmaker, Ulayu Pingwartok was born near Lake Harbour, Baffin Island, Northwest Territories (now Nunavut) and died in Cape Dorset, Baffin Island. Hundreds of her lithographs*, stonecut prints*, stencil prints* and felt pen drawings are in the permanent collections of Canadian museums.
