Biography Hannah Bolton Barlow
A ceramist and sculptor, Hannah Barlow was known for her terra-cotta* reliefs and especially for sgraffito* drawings of animals on raw clay. Between 1871 and 1874, she and her brother, Arthur Barlow, produced over 9,000 original pots.
She trained under John Sparkes and Jean-Charles Cazin at the Lambeth School of Art* in London and from 1871 to 1913, worked at Doulton's of Lambeth, manufacturers of Doulton China.
