Cora Adelaide Reid was born in Louisiana on September 16, 1866. Reid was was an art teacher in Adair , Missouri in 1900-10 and Deming , New Mexico in 1920. Shortly thereafter, she established a commercial art studio in Riverside , California .
A spinster, she died there on February 4, 1942. Her rare paintings include landscapes of the desert near San Diego .
