Blanche Greenway Hayes (1883-1972), Ohio, 20th Century painter.
Blanche Hayes was born in Cambridge, Ohio on January11, 1883, the daughter of Robert M. Greenway and Caroline Neubeck. The family later moved to Marietta, Ohio where Blanche graduated high school in 1901.  She then studied art and music at Marietta College. There under Professor Nye her art curriculum consisted of "[a] two years' course in drawing…, which comprise[d] in the first year charcoal drawing from geometrical solids, outline and shaded studies from still-life, and the second year drawing from casts of detached features, from blocked heads and from finished casts of heads."
