Stanton Dewey Willard was born in Illinois on Feb. 3, 1891. Following service in WWI, Willard moved to California in 1919. During the 1930s he created a ceramic mural for the Federal Art Project in the Monterey Post Office. He lived in San Clemente until shortly before his demise in Pleasant Hill, CA on Sept. 27, 1964.
