Charlotte C. Winn was born in Oregon in February 1848. Charlotte was the wife of school teacher, Abel Winn. By 1880 the couple had settled in San Francisco where Mrs. Winn soon studied at the School of Design. She died there on Jan. 9, 1933. Having lost most of her paintings in the earthquake and fire of 1906, her works are rare.
