Biography   Margarete Haeberlin

Margarete Haeberlin was the daughter of a court architect and grew up in Potsdam.  As a fifteen year old, she received special permission to copy paintings in the royal art collections.  Her painting skills were self-taught. 

With help from a certificate from the hand of the director of the art collections in the Prussian royal palaces, Paul Seidel, Margarete Haeberlin was able to study at the Royal Academy of the Arts in Berlin from 1897.  She focused on landscapes and still lifes, employing various techniques. 

In 1901, she married the landscape painter Johannes Rudolphi but still signed her works "M. H.".  From 1910, she predominantly worked as a porcelain painter for KPM (R   ...  Displaying 750 of 780 characters.
