Biography Alfred Avison
Alfred (Al Avison, born 1920, was the son of George Avison, illustrator. Major Influences on his career were his father, George Avison, and Al Dorne.
He was schooled at the Pratt Institute in Brookly, and worked at Marvel Comics, circa 1940-44 on "Captain America", "Whizzer" and the "Vision"; and at Fawcett Comics 1941-42 on "Captain Marvel".
Al Avison's main accounts were for Harvey Comics where he worked on "Shock Gibson", "Blazer", "Green Hornet", "Captain Freedom", "Humphrey", "Joe Palooka", "Casper", "Little Dot", et al.
