Biography
Allen Akina

Allen Akina was well respected for his contribution to the Hawaiian art scene and to the rebirth of pride of the Hawaiian nation. Though he completed numerous paintings, he was most known for his illustration work and designs for clothing. During the late 1990’s, it was common to see his bold designs adorning women’s dresses in Honolulu.

Shown in his askART record is an image of his illustrated cover for the book entitled A Resource Curriculum Guide on Polynesian Voyaging, published by the Polynesian Voyaging Society in 1976.
