Biography  
Clara Klinghoffer


Painter of portraits, particularly children.  Born 18 May 1900 of Polish-Jewish parents near Lemberg, Austria, and brought to London as a baby.  Studied at the Central School and at the Slade School 1919–21.  Member of the N.E.A.C. 1933.  Married Joseph W. F. Stoppelman, writer, in 1926; lived in Holland and France and from 1939 in the United States.  Has traveled widely in Mexico and Europe.
