Dr. Clarence Kincaid taught art education and watercolor classes at Texas Tech in the early 1960's. He was a super water colorist and instructor.
He was appointed a Horn Professor in 1972, the highest honor received by a Texas Tech faculty member. Kincaid retired in 1982 to pursue his painting on a full time basis.
The Clarence E. Kincaid Memorial Scholarship Endowment at Texas Tech was established 1996 by Ms. Susan Kincaid of Lubbock, with additional support from family and friends of Clarence Kincaid, to provide scholarships for junior or senior art education majors or to MAE candidates or Fine Arts doctoral candidates with an emphasis in art.
