She also had early art talent and moving to Seattle, Washington, she became President of the Northwest Watercolor Society. She settled in Tualatin, Oregon, and from Alex Powers, took a workshop that focused her energies from traditional landscapes and still lifes to personally expressive abstraction. Her work began reflecting her Asian heritage, and she became a signature member of the National WAtercolor Society.
