Judging by her autobiography published in 1925, she looked back on her life with pride and worldly content. She titled the book Around the World at Eighty: A Collection of Letters Written on Her Cruise Around the World Which Left New York January.
Throughout her adult life, a high priority was nurturing her art talent. As a young woman, she was enrolled in the Art Students League in New York City and exhibited with the Society of Independent Artists.
