Innes Fripp was the nephew of the Bristol landscape painter George Arthur Fripp RWS (1813 - 1896) [see AskART] and Alfred Downing Fripp RWS (1822 - 1895) [see AskART].  He came from a long line of artists, including his great-great grandfather, Nicholas Pocock (1741 - 1821) [see AskART], the prominent marine painter from Bristol.  Innes Fripp was a decorative, pictorial and portrait painter and stained glass illustrator.

He studied at Bristol School of Art, the Royal College of Art*, and in Paris.  He was an assistant master at the Royal College of Art* and at Lambeth School of Art* [AKA: City & Guilds of London Art School]. He was also life-ma  ...  Displaying 750 of 1632 characters.
