Matteus Van Helmont


Matteus Van Helmont was born in 1623.  He was a painter of genre scenes. 

The artist became master of the St. Luke Guild of Ambers and Brussels. He collaborated with Jacques Artois, painting the figures of his parents.  His work has a great influence of artists like D.Ryckaert III, and D. Teniers II.
