Born in Paris in 1966, Richard Orlinski studied at the National Fine Arts School in Neuilly-sur-Seine, France and then chose to devote himself to his passion for sculpture. Influenced by Pop Artists such a Robert Indiana and Keith Haring, in addition to Jeff Koons and Takashi Murakami, Orlinski's works center around the concept of ''Born Wild'' using contemporary materials such as resin and aluminum in addition to stone, marble and bronze to form his iconic animal sculptures.
He spent two years finalizing the proportions of the crocodile and uses specific color schemes. His works are sleek and stylish and have even featured in pop videos with the artist. In 2010, Art Price hailed him as second best-selling contemporary French artist in France.
