Chatham- It wasn't unusual to see Bob Clem driving around town in his station wagon, piloting his wooden boat on the water, or out walking, binoculars in hand.  But few who saw this polite, unassuming man, a resident here for 50 years, knew of his reputation as an artist.

Mr Clem, who died in his sleep last Friday, Sept. 17, at age 76, was considered one of the foremost bird artists in the country.  A loyal following awaiting his new paintings with anticipation, and his one major published book, The Shorebirds of North America, is conside  ...  Displaying 750 of 6163 characters.
