Biography  
Samuel Medley


The son of a baptist minister of the same name, Samuel Medley exhibited at the Royal Academy between 1792 and 1805, initially historical and mythological subjects, but latterly more often portraits.  From 1805 however he traded on the Stock Exchange, and later became one of the founders of University College, London.
