Biography
Vanni Viviani

Vanni Viviani (1937-2002) was born in San Giacomo delle Segnate in the province of Mantua.  Already at a young age, he moved to Bolzano and devoted himself to figurative painting and sculpture.  In 1963, he went to Parma and joined the Emilio-Lombard Avant-garde group of artists.  In 1968, he settled in Milan.

A trip brought him to Brazil, where he met the architect Oscar Niemeyer, who would become a close friend of his.  In 1988, he returned to his hometown, where he bought the ‘Ca di Pom’, a 19th century mansion, which he donated to the Fondazione Banca Agricola Mantovana in 2002, in order to become a cultural center and museum of his work after his death.
