Biography
Wilfred (Wally) Berg

Wilfred "Wally" Berg was born in Muskegon, Michigan on May 17, 1908.  Except for winters spent in Florida and a tour of duty in North Africa during World War II, he lived his whole life in the area.

Berg knew from an early age he wanted to draw and paint.  He recalled that his first grade teacher like a drawing he made and displayed it on the bulletin board.  Berg received his first formal art training during his high school years at Hackley Manual Training School.  The school's art instructor, Wilbur Knesle, also taught classes at the Hackley Art Gallery and Berg attended those classes after graduating from high school.  He later studied at the Ringling Art School* in Sarasota, Florida,   ...  Displaying 750 of 3027 characters.
