W.F. Hardy Sr. Dies 3 Days After Wife.
Artist, 81 Years Old, to Be Buried Tomorrow Beside Mate

Funeral services for William F. Hardy Sr., artist, who died yesterday at this home, Ladue and McKnight roads, Clayton, of shock and grief over the death of his wife last Thursday, will be held at 1:30 p.m. tomorrow from the Bopp funeral chapel.  He will be buried beside his wife in St. Paul's Evangelical Cemetery.

Mr. Hardy was stricken following the death of his wife, Mrs. Mary B. Hardy, and was unable to attend her funeral Saturday.  They would have celebrated their sixtieth wedding anniversary April 24.

Mr. Hardy, who would have been 81 on Friday, was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, and resided in St. Louis and St. Louis County nearly 60 years. He was primarily a landscape painter, but executed a number of subject canvasses, which he presented to institutions and organizations.

A portrait of Washington was given to the Clayton Masonic Lodge, several pictures depicting the adventures of Daniel Boone hang in a hotel in Columbia, Mo., and a copy of the "Lord's Supper" was presented to the Samuel Evangelical Church.

Surviving are three sons, William F.R., Oliver and Frank R. Hardy, and a sister in Los Angeles, California.
