Biography
Yushan Lin

Lin Yu-Shan was born in 1907 in Taiwan.  He expressed his talent for art when very little, and learned painting in Kawabata Drawing Institute.  In 1927, Lin's work was selected into "Taiwan Fine Art Exhibition," where he along with Guo Hsueh-Hu and Chen Chin were given the name "Three Youngsters."  After coming back to Taiwan, Lin devoted himself into teaching.  During the period he studied in Kawabata Drawing Institute, he was so influenced by the idea of drawing sketch that, later in his whole life, he concentrated on sketching and spread the idea.  Lin specialized in transforming natural scenery into a lively picture, making his art style both playful and close to ordinary people's life.  ...  Displaying 744 of 744 characters.
