Lanier Abele was noted for miniature painting. Married to Alan Mason, she lived in Atlanta, Georgia and Winter Park, Florida. She studied art at Brenau University in Gainsville, Georgia with John Weygandt; in Washington DC at the Corcoran Gallery with Eugen Weisz, Burtis Baker and Felix Mahony; and also in DC at the National School of Fine and Applied Arts.
Memberships included the Atlanta Art Association, Atlanta Studio Club. Southern States Art League and Association of Georgia Artists. Her work is at Oglethorpe University, Brenau University and the U.S. Naval Armory in Atlanta.
