Theodore Chauncey Boyd was born in New York in 1830. Boyd was a resident of NYC in 1850-52. Arriving in San Francisco in 1854, he established a studio at Clay and Montgomery streets where he was a designer (Mechanics' Institute seal), engraver on wood, and stockbroker. He was active in San Francisco until 1899. Exh: Mechanics' Inst. Fair (SF), 1871; San Francisco Art Association, 1873.
