Active in Andover, Massachusetts Art Association and chair person of Andover High School Art Festivals, Frances Dalton was a Supervisor and Instructor of Art in the Andover High Schools. She exhibited at the Whistler House Gallery, the Addison Gallery and John Ester Gallery and the Boston Museum of Guild Artists.
She was a student of Philip Hale at the Boston School Museum of Fine Art, and also earned a certificate in Paris from the Ecole des Beaux Arts, where she traveled on a Paige Traveling Scholarship. From 1930 to 1933, she studied sculpture with Robert Laurent.
Memberships included Guild Scholars of the Boston Museum School and American Artists Professional League.
