Some of her published works appear to be executed around the turn of the century and are typical of the "Harpers'" magazine style of that era with large format and grey and black tones. She also did illustrations for "House and Garden" magazine.
Mansfield was equally skillful with figure and landscape painting. Her work is often signed Mansfield LB in monogram form.
She attended The Art Student League in New York and was active in many art organizations in the New York area. Memberships included The Brooklyn Society of Artists, The Art Student League NY. American Federation of Arts, and Brooklyn Water Color Club.
