The following is from Bob Parsons, who is seeking more information on Otis Galbreath.

"Otis was born March 1857 (should be 1897) in Jackson, Callaway Co. Missouri. He enlisted in the U.S. Army Feb 18, 1918. He married Veline Elsia Scott, July 29, 1920 in Keokuk, Iowa. He received no formal training in his major medium of oil painting.

As the article from the Keokuk local newspaper of April 24, 1964 indicates he received an award from Atlanta University for his “Let By-gones b By-gones” oil painting on a negro theme. 

He also received recognition from the Harmony Foundation for Old Folks at Home, which was placed on permanent display in the Trevor Arnett Library in Atlanta?
