A California oil painter and art teacher, Dale Logan Hill was owner, director and instructor at the South Coast Academy of Art in Santa Ana and Newport Beach, California; and owner of D. Logan Hill Fine Art Gallery in Carmel, California. He also did private teaching and was on the faculty of the Orange County Art Institute. His classes focused on his primary art interests, which were oil painting on antique silver, cut glass and crystal; and western scenes using a palette knife.

Dale Hill studied at the Minneapolis School of Fine Art* on a scholarship, and in Chicago at the American Academy of Art* and the Frederick Mizen School of Art*. Among his teachers were Pruett Carter, Stanley Parkhouse, Harry Timmins and Haddon Sundblom.
Memberships included the American Institute of Fine Arts; Allied Artists of America*; and the Los Angeles Art Director Club*.
Exhibition venues were the Village Gallery, Taos, New Mexico; Jamison Gallery, Santa Fe, New Mexico; Desert Southwest Gallery, Palm Desert, California; Desert Art Museum, Palm Springs, California; and Laguna Art Association Gallery, Laguna Beach, California
Dale Logan Hill is buried at Dearborn Memorial Park, Poway, San Diego County California. The dates on his tombstone are July 23, 1909 to March 5, 1989.
