Biography from Butler Institute of American Art

Cecil Schapiro was born in New York City and received a B.A. from Hunter College and a M.A. from Columbia University.

She studied at the Art Students League, Alfred University and the New School for Social Research.

She has had one-man shows at Barausky Galleries in New York, and the Jewish Community Center in Harrisburg, PA.

She is represented in the Butler Institute of American Art, Perdue University, Norfolk Museum of Arts and Sciences and the Arkansas Arts Center.
