Jane McDuffie Thurston

Jane McDuffie Thurston was active/lived in California, Wisconsin. Jane Thurston is known for figure and landscape painting, etching, sculpture.
From Wisconsin, Jane Thurston studied at the Art Institute of Chicago (1910-1912) and the National Park Seminary from 1903 to 1906. She was also a student of Jean Mannheim and Richard Miller.
In 1917, she settled in Pasadena, California, and in 1923, she married Carl Thurston. She was active in Pasadena art circles the remainder of her life including membership in Women Painters of the West, California Art Club, and California Watercolor Society.
She also did a series of booklets titled Enjoy Your Museum and was producer of filmstrips called Madonna of the Renaissance, Say Hello to Modern Art, The Art of Etching, Speaking of Scultpture, and Inspiration for Christmas.
