Walter Curtis Yeomans


Walter Curtis Yeomans was born in 1882 in Avon, Illinois. After his studies at the University of Illinois, Yeomans privately studied painting and watercolor with Frederick F. Fursman, a significant Illinois landscape master. Later, Yeomans studied with American Impressionist, Frank Alfred Bicknell.

At the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Yeomans worked with Aldro T. Hibbard and Jerry Farnsworth both of whom helped Yeomans develop a pleasing and relaxed variation on American Realism.

Yeomans exhibited widely with one-person and/or group exhibitions at the 1939 World's Fair, New York; the Library of Congress, Washington; the Rockport Art Association, Massachusetts; and the Victoria and Albert Museum, London, England. Displaying 750 of 1239 characters.
