Born in Zanesville, Ohio, Emma Cadwalader-Guild became a sculptor of figures, many of them famous people including Presidents McKinley and Lincoln and European royalty.
She lived in England and Berlin and from 1905, lived in New York City. Mostly self taught, she exhibited in Munich (1883), at the Royal Academy in London (1885-1898), and the Paris Salon (1894). She also exhibited at the St. Louis Expo of 1904.
Her preferred media were marble, granite and bronze.
