Biography from Crocker Art Museum Store

Painter, lithographer. Born on Jan. 3, 1900 in Pleasanton, CA. After settling in Berkeley in 1917, Gordena Parker enrolled at the CCAC. At that school she met her husband-to-be, Osman Jackson. She had a studio-home in the hills of Berkeley and remained active as an artist until shortly before her death on April 10, 1993. Her watercolors, oils, lithographs, and drawings are signed 'Gordena.' Exh: San Francisco Art Association, 1932-39; Santa Cruz Art League, 1932-37; Mills College, 1933 (solo); Stanford Univ., 1939 (solo); Oakland Art Gallery, 1933-42; Calif. State Fair, 1941; NAD, 1942, 1943; Laguna Beach AA, 1944. lnvw; CA&A; WWAA 1940-53.
