The following information submitted by his great nephew Bruce Clark:
My father told me that Charles Dickens Wader was an alcoholic and would go to bars and trade his water colors for alcoholic beverages. Later I believe he mixed alcohol with morphine or other exotic drugs, which eventually drove him insane. He died in the Willard Asylum for the insane.
