Buck Saunders: Alvin Lee Saunders
Born August 10, 1907 in Portsmouth, Va.
Died February 29, 1988 in Scottsdale, AZ.
Occupation: Civil engineer, gallery owner and artist
Medium: watercolor, oil, pencil, pen & ink, silkscreen

Buck Saunders was a civil engineer and, among other things, was in charge of construction of the Kingman, Arizona, Gunnery Range in 1941 and the Veteran's Hospital in Phoenix, Arizona.  While he and his wife, Leobarda (Leo) were living in Phoenix, he opened the first art gallery in Scottsdale, "Scottsdale Trading Post" (Buck Saunders Gallery) on March 1, 1949.

Buck was president of the Arizona Artists Guild several years  ...  Displaying 750 of 1608 characters.
